About Lamiaa Biaz
“I became deeply concerned about the environmental crisis and developed a passion for nature. As a result, I decided to leave my corporate career to raise awareness about the environmental crisis and educate on sustainability issues and solutions. After having studied in a leasing business school in France, I started my career as a banker and evolved in a corporate environment. I have also always been concerned with topics like poverty and environmental degradation, and that’s why I switched my career from the corporate world to social and environmental impact. Since 2019, I have changed my habits to embrace a plastic- and waste-free lifestyle. At the professional level, I led for a few years projects funded by the European Commission focused on energy, waste management, water recycling, urban forestry, and soil health. This led me to create Captain Forest in 2022, a platform to raise awareness about environmental issues through thoughtful conversations with international experts and to educate civil society and working professionals about sustainability topics. My hope is that we collectively transform our lives and organizations so that we clean up the big mess on Earth 🌍 and leave behind us a beautiful planet for the next generations.”
